Hill named Ky. revenue dept. deputy commissioner
Former Bowling Green City Commissioner Melinda Hill has joined the Kentucky Department of Revenue as deputy commissioner, according to a Department of Revenue news release.
“With over 30 years of corporate business experience. She has worked for Fortune 500 companies, locally owned companies, a regional bank, a non-profit organization and Western Kentucky University,” according to the release.
First elected to the commission in 2011, Hill was the chairperson for the Sloan Convention Center Board, chairperson for the Job Development Incentive Program and a member of the Warren County Downtown Economic Development Authority.
“I am thrilled to join an agency with such amazing people … I am delighted to get the opportunity to serve our Commonwealth and help improve how we do business with the taxpayers of Kentucky,” Hill said in the release.
Hill did not seek re-election to the city commission last year to unsuccessfully challenge state Rep. Jody Richards, D-Bowling Green, for his District 20 seat.
