Stage set for Region 4 semifinals, championship rounds

The stage is set for the Region 4 tennis semifinal and championship rounds Wednesday at Kereiakes Park.

Defending region champion and No. 1 seed Mia Lancaster of Greenwood rolled to second-round and quarterfinal victories – dropping just two games – to set up a semifinal match with Glasgow’s Brooklyn Brown at 4 p.m.

Greenwood’s Hope Fredrick will play No. 2 seed Konnor Gallagher of Metcalfe County in the other girls’ singles semifinal match.

Greenwood eighth-grader Jacks Lancaster swept South Warren’s Braden Stephanski and Glasgow’s Nick Morosa in straight sets to earn a semifinal berth match against Barren County’s Jacob Belcher.

Bowling Green’s John Guthrie defeated South Warren’s Luke Wininger 6-0, 6-0 to play Greenwood’s Ben Wassom in the other semifinal match.

In girls’ doubles, the top-seeded team from Greenwood of Catherine Gott/Greer Glosick will play South Warren’s Madison Feria/Jenna Rampenthal.

Two-time defending region champions Sydney Cassady/Natalie Noble from South Warren will play the Bowling Green pair of Miriam Reber/Campbell Richey.

In boys’ doubles, Bowling Green’s Amrit Avula/Ronit Patel move on to play Glasgow’s Creighton Lessenberry/Hewett Lessenberry in the semifinals. Greenwood’s Parker Young/Landon Gann will play Allen County-Scottsville’s Camden Carver/Jake Stovall.
