Kentucky blasts Hilltoppers 15-0
It was an all systems failure Wednesday in Lexington for Western Kentucky, which committed five errors, allowed 15 runs and didn’t score in a 15-0 loss at Kentucky.
The Wildcats scored six runs – two earned – off Hilltopper starter Troy Newell, three off Maddex Richardson, four off Evan Snyder and two off Drew Strohm.
WKU third baseman Sam McElreath made a pair of errors, while first baseman Davis Sims, second baseman Jack Wilson and shortstop Kevin Lambert committed one each against UK (13-4).
The Toppers (6-9) have lost seven straight games by a combined 43 runs. They open Conference USA play at 5 p.m. Friday at home vs. Alabama-Birmingham.
