Purples blank Warren Central
Charlie Key and Jackson Stahl combined to throw a one-hit shutout in Bowling Green’s 11-0 win over Warren Central on Monday.
Key provided four strikeouts in three innings before Stahl allowed one hit in the final two.
Eli Thurman and Trevor Dennis each homered to give Bowling Green (12-8 overall, 7-3 District 14) its fifth straight win.
Dennis led the Purples with three hits while Will Garske and Joe Howard each provided two hits.
Hez Pendley had the lone hit for Warren Central (5-13, 0-10)
Warren East 4,
Cumberland County 0
Ryan Hawks pitched his fourth shutout of the year and had a career-high 18 strikeouts in Warren East’s 4-0 win at Cumberland County.
Hawks threw a no-hitter and hit two batters in the complete game. The junior threw 61 strikes on 78 pitches.
Caleb Love had two hits and Colson Elkins drove in a pair of runs for the Raiders (11-13).
Logan County 5,
Hopkinsville 3
Kaleb Justice hit a three-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put Logan County over Hopkinsville 5-3.
With the Cougars (17-7) trailing 3-2, Justice swung on a 2-0 count and sent the homer over left field to score Bradley Taylor and Braxton Meguiar.
Taylor homered in the first inning for Logan County and finished with two hits.
Tommy Krohn earned the start and allowed Hopkinsville three earned runs on five hits in 3 2/3 innings. Dylan Pennick came in the rest of the way and surrendered just two hits with six strikeouts.
Muhlenberg County 4,
Franklin-Simpson 0
Franklin-Simpson mustered just three hits against Muhlenberg County pitcher Nick Casey, who had 12 strikeouts in a complete-game shutout over the Wildcats (18-7).
Rylan Thomas, Dalton Fiveash and Jacob Curtis each had a hit for Franklin-Simpson, which left eight runners on base.

Katie Gardner pitched a shutout with nine strikeouts. Jeyda Bays had three hits and five RBIs for the Lady Raiders (16-2).
Olivia Price and Kya Elkin each finished with three hits and Shelby Trent added two hits.
Warren East scored five runs in the top of the sixth to end the game early.
KaeLee Stafford, Kassi Bullington and Taylor Stamps each had a hit for Allen County-Scottsville (18-8).
Greenwood 8,
Franklin-Simpson 7
Tabitha Wilgruber hit a walk-off double in the bottom of the eighth inning to give Greenwood an extra-inning win over Franklin-Simpson.
The Lady Wildcats (10-18) stormed into a 7-5 lead with six runs in the top of the seventh inning, but Greenwood tied it with two runs in the bottom of the frame.
Alex Grubbs led Greenwood (11-14) with four hits – three for doubles.
Lizzy Weems drove in two runs and had two hits for Franklin-Simpson.
Bowling Green 7,
Russellville 3
(Game 1)
The Lady Purples (4-11) scored four runs in the first inning and held on to beat Russellville 7-3. Kendle White’s three-run triple in the first inning put Bowling Green ahead of Russellville (14-12) for good.

(Game 2)
The Lady Panthers went off for five runs in the fifth inning to pull away from Bowling Green 11-4.
Addie Mosier’s second double of the game scored the go-ahead runs in the top of the fourth for Russellville.
Gia Martin, Elizabeth Richey, Kassidy Mason and Kendle White each had a hit for Bowling Green.
