WKU signs junior-college golfer Poole

Western Kentucky men’s golf coach Chan Metts announced Friday the signing of Jack Poole (Homewood, Ala.) to a national letter of intent in the 2018-19 signing class.

Poole comes to WKU as a junior-college transfer from Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City, Ala. He’ll have two years of eligibility remaining.

“Jack is impressive as both a player and a student,” Metts said in a news release. “He has a very strong work ethic that has paid dividends in his college career in both areas. He will be a great asset to The Hill and our golf program and will have an immediate impact.”

Poole has recorded four top-10 performances so far this season for Central Alabama, which is ranked seventh as a team at the JUCO level by Golfstat. Poole’s individual Golfstat ranking is 27th.

Other highlights include a top-10 finish at the 2017 Montgomery Country Club Invitational and top-25 showings at the 2018 Spirit of America Invitational and 2018 Alabama Open.

Poole has also excelled in the classroom as a NJCAA Academic All American.

He’s made the President’s List the last two semesters, and has also received Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society academic achievement.

Poole is a teammate at Central Alabama with fellow WKU signee Caleb O’Toole, who signed with the Hilltoppers in the fall.
