Black Stone Cherry spreads the holiday cheer with Christmas song, local show and a place on Classic Rock’s Top 50

Black Stone Cherry released their first Christmas carol this week and is gearing up for their first Bowling Green show since 2005.

The Christmas tune, embedded below, is a hard rocking cover of Elvis Presley’s “Santa Clause is Back in Town” from his 1957 Christmas album.  The file was posted this week by Roadrunner Records, the label on which their third album, Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea was released earlier this year.  The CD was recently rated by Classic Rock Magazine as #4 on their Top 50 Albums of 2011 list.

Black Stone Cherry has been on constant tour since they took off, but will be making a long awaited stop in Bowling Green on December 28th to appear at the Jambodians Holiday Bash at the Sloan Convention Center.  The show will be their first in Bowling Green since 2005.  Hosted by the SonRhea Foundation, the concert is a fundraiser for their mission of making the arts more accessible to local children by providing band instruments.  After the holidays their tour begins anew, with the band heading to the UK again in the Spring.
