Kick back and enjoy a lazy river canoe trip
We don’t call them hills in Hart County, our gently rolling hillsides are knobs. The “karst” terrain is dotted with sinkholes and underground streams.
Nolin River forms the western boundary of the county, and the Green River winds through the center, flowing east to west in a series of loops and bends. Hart County contains five of Kentucky’s ten largest springs, including Gorin Mill Spring, the largest in the state.
Most of the rainwater that falls here flows underground through sinkholes and caves and into Green River by way of these springs. Green River provides the only public accessway to see Hart County’s beautiful Springs.
Located in Munfordville’s Green River Park & Arboretum, Big Buffalo Crossing Canoe & Kayak offers day or overnight tours that can include camping, fishing, swimming, caving, and/or sightseeing. There is something for every skill level.
Bring your family, your scout troop, your reunion, or your favorite pals to enjoy a breathtaking lazy trip past our lovely springs. Springs in the springtime…can’t beat it!
