East grad Tooley earns all-conference honors for Kentucky Wesleyan

Kentucky Wesleyan’s Christian Tooley, a 2016 Warren East graduate, and teammate Carter Dodson were named to the Great Midwest All-Conference Men’s Golf Team, the league office announced Saturday.

“It is a well-deserved honor for both Tooley and Dodson,” Kentucky Wesleyan coach Ken Badylak said in a news release. “Those two have great temperaments about themselves on the course and it leads to consistent play. I could not be more proud of them and the team overall. It has been such a rewarding season and I am happy that their efforts did not go unnoticed.”

Tooley holds a tournament scoring average of 74.69 this season, which is sixth overall in the Great Midwest Conference. Six of his 24.5 rounds this season have been at par or better. Tooley also notched his first career win in October at the Midwest Regional at Fox Run Golf Club. His 143 total (1-under) at Fox Run stands as a season best for 36 holes.

Tooley also owns a runner-up finish at Panther Invitational, where he shot a 54-hole low of 221 (6-over). This season he posted an individual record of 572-194, finishing in the top 25 percent of every field.
