Gravel Switch: Face the Day
Gravel Switch’s recent release, Face the Day, has been a work in progress for years according to rhythm guitarist, Jordan Pierce. “One of the songs was actually written back when gravel switch was still a young band, and was revamped for this album.” he said.
But, the majority of tracks on the album were written in 2012 when they were home from the road. “They’re songs about our everyday life or what we perceive life to be.” explained Pierce.
Though they hail from Jamestown, Gravel Switch has been a regular fixture in the Bowling Green scene for some seven years. The hard hitting rock band is made up of Josh Pierce, lead guitarist and primary songwriter, Seth Wade, lead vocals, Matt Moore on bass/vocals, drummer Johnny Hodge and Jordan Pierce.
They started recording the album in April of 2012 and finished in June of 2012. Medical Records, the band’s label, had them travel to Kennesaw, Ga. to record in Pendlewood Studios. Alex Rexroat served as producer and Universal Recording mastered the album. A few of the background vocals were recorded at Music Is Me in Glasgow, KY. The cover artwork was provided by Medical Records, and the rest of the album art was created by Jordan Pierce.
