The Governor’s Office has invited the Kentucky Arts Council (KAC) to coordinate a Derby Exhibit of two-dimensional artwork by Kentucky artists. The works selected for the exhibit will be on display in the Capitol Rotunda, available for viewing by all guests at the Capitol.

ELIGIBILITY: This exhibit is open to all Kentucky artists. The works must be original, two-dimensional and completed within the last four years.

THEME: The exhibit will focus on the theme “Spring Time in Kentucky”.

CONDITIONS OF EXHIBIT: The artist may decide whether or not to offer his/her work(s) for sale. There will be no commission on any sales. While transportation of the artwork to and from the Kentucky Arts Council offices is dependent upon the artist, all works will be insured while in the possession of the Kentucky Arts Council. An exhibit agreement form will be sent to all artists whose work is selected for this exhibit.

Dimensions (including frame) should not exceed 36 inches in width, and the artwork should not exceed 25 lbs.

In order to protect the artwork during transportation to and from the Capitol, no work will be accepted by the Kentucky Arts Council unless it is securely wrapped and packaged in a box. Before submitting a piece for consideration, please make sure that you can provide the appropriate packaging for the piece.

COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION FORM: For each piece that you want to submit for the exhibit copy and paste the Registration Form information below into a separate e-mail. Complete the information requested for that piece of art.

Attach the digital image of the artwork. (Make sure the image is an attachment to the e-mail. Do not insert the image into the body of the e-mail.)

Submissions with missing information will be ineligible. Please make sure you include all information required below before submitting.

Note: Titles or prices of artwork may not be changed after it is accepted for the exhibit.
