Christmas Gift Ideas from the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce
Are you looking for a special Christmas gift for someone? Stop by the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce in downtown Glasgow and make a selection. Organizations around the community offer cookbooks for sale at the Chamber. These include cookbooks by the Barren County Homemakers, Houchens 27-Cookin’ For a Cure, Seasoned Recipes from South Central Rural Telephone Cooperative, Cookin’ Up A Cure for Cystic Fibrosis, and Get Cookin’ with Curves Light & Lively, and Food for the Soul Too – First Christian Church. All cookbooks are $10 each.
Since 2002, the Glasgow Kiwanis Club has produced a collectible Christmas ornament each year. These ornaments are available for $10 each. The 2010 ornament features Austin Tracy High School, Home of the Eagles. Other ornaments available are 2005-Houchens First Store; 2006-Dutch Mill Village; 2007-Glasgow High School on Liberty Street, Home of the Scotties; 2008-Ralph Bunche High School, Home of the Blue Hawks; and 2009-Temple Hill High School, Home of the Bulldogs.
A number of books are also available for purchase. Books by local author, Gary West, include “Eating Your Way Across Kentucky,” “Eating Your Way Across Kentucky-The Recipes,” and “101 Places To Shop in Kentucky.” These books contain information about local restaurants and shopping spots.
The Chamber is offering a special deal on Kentucky Basketball Coach John Calipari’s book, “Bounce Back,” published in 2009. This motivational book about overcoming setbacks to succeed in business and in life is on sale for $20 and makes a wonderful Christmas gift.
Remember that gift certificates are also available at the Glasgow-Barren County Chamber of Commerce. Gift certificates are available in any amount and are accepted at the majority of businesses throughout Glasgow and Barren County. Accepted forms of payment are cash or check.
