Funk Explosion: Friday, April 15TH at 8 pm the Capitol is getting funky!

Three bands will bring their unique styles to the stage for a FUNK EXPLOSION.  Felonious Funk will start the night, followed by Fat Box and Deep Fried Five.  All three of these bands have played various clubs in the area, but this will be their first show together in a venue such as the Capitol.

Felonious Funk will get the party going with their crowd pleasing blend of Soul, Pop, Funk and Dance tunes.  Band members – Jordan Weiss -Guitar, Vocals; Clay Terry – Sax; Ryan Stiles – Sax; Murf Adams – Trumpet; Kevin Goodnight – Trumpet; Ken Embry – Bass ; Justin Mutter – Drums are talented musicians and have played many of the clubs in Bowling Green

Fat Box’s unique sound is something best heard live. They may be adventurous in their music, but they never loose sight of the groove. Love the retro sounds of 60’s soul & 70’s and beyond.

Band members Murf Adams-Lead Guitar; Jonas Butler-Drums; Troy Mimms-Percussion; Clay Powell-Guitar, Vocals; Ryan Stiles-Saxophone; Kevin Woolen-Bass, Vocals, will keep you moving.

Then you will love Deep Fried Five and their high energy and one of a kind take on these classic sounds. Justin Martin-Keys; Alex Dilley-Bass; David Whitlow-Drums; Andrew Muller-Guitar; Eric Koslosky- Guitar & Vocals.

Each member of the bands is excited to play on the stage of the Capitol and the venue is testing an idea for concerts promoting local music.  “This is something I have wanted to do for a very long time – promote local entertainment.  We have so many talented musicians in and from this area we need to showcase and support them as much as we can.  We want to offer the community an option for seeing good music in a great atmosphere” commented Karen Hume, Executive Director of the Capitol Arts Alliance.
