Tea Squares Grand Opening and Fountain Square Businesses silent auction items for “Capital for the Capitol”

Tea Squares • A Sweet Boutique announces their Grand Opening Celebration October 10 -15 and a Fountain Square silent auction for the Capitol Arts Alliance.

After a whirlwind effort to open Tea Squares three months after relocating from New Orleans, Theresa and Greg Shea wanted to thank their new community. “Our Sneak Preview was a huge success, and we wanted to thank everyone for supporting us during and after our soft opening,” said Theresa Shea, co-owner of Tea Squares. “Our staff decided that organizing a silent auction for our theater would be a great way to show our gratitude.”

The Sheas joined the Fountain Square Business Association (FSBA) almost immediately after moving to Bowling Green. “FSBA offered us the support and guidance we needed to open so quickly,” commented Shea. FSBA’s mission is to help new businesses opening near Fountain Square. “We thank FSBA and the local businesses supporting our Grand Opening by participating in the ‘Capital for the Capitol’ silent auction. The funds we raise will go toward helping the Capitol refresh thirty years of wear and tear.”

Auction items valued over $3,000 from more than 20 merchants will be presented October 8 during the Fountain Square 2nd Saturday event. “The community can view and bid on items at each of the participating stores through Saturday, October 15,” said Shea. Donated items include a $500 Lady Toppers Suite package with 16 tickets from BB&T, $500 Tissot Swiss-made watches from Morris Jewelers, and a mini cake a day, worth $430, from Tea Squares. Other donors include Barbara Stewart Interiors & Invitations on Main, Bowling Green Pipe & Cigar, Briza Azul, Candle Makers on the Square, Corsair Artisan Distillery, Dollar Brothers Shoe Company, Entourage Tapas Bar & Lounge, John Norman McDonald Photography, The Gallery at 916, Golden Farley, Labold and Sons Salvage, ME Bella Boutique & Salon, Meo’s Collection, Morris Jewelers, The Pots Place, Renaissance Hair Design, Spencer’s Coffeehouse, The Symphony, United Furniture, Verdi Restaurant & Bar, Zebra Graphics and Zingarella. A complete list of donors, auction items and locations may be found at each donor location and online at teasquares.com by October 8.

On Saturday, October 15, All Hit WUHU-107 FM will announce the silent auction winners during the live broadcast at Tea Squares grand opening at 906 State Street on Fountain Square.

Tea Squares will reward customers October 10-15 with double Sweet Reward points on any bakery or beverage purchase, and daily discounts for vegans, seniors, students, businesses, I Love BG button wearers and more. The Chamber will cut the ribbon at 4 pm on Friday, October 14. Facebook.com/teaquares will have daily specials and wall post updates from businesses participating in the silent auction.
