Fountain Square Players presents Seven Brides for Seven Brothers by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay with music by Gene de Paul and Joel Hirschhorn and lyrics by Johnny Mercer, Al Kasha, Joel Hirshhorn. The performance will be directed by Heather Bitterling. Performance times are June 24-26 at 8pm and June 27 at 3pm.
The play has been named by the Writers Guild of America as the Best written American Musical. It won an Oscar for Best Music Scoring of a Musical.

Synopsis: Adam, the eldest of seven brothers, goes to town to get a wife. He convinces Milly to marry him that same day. They return to his backwoods home. Only then does she discover he has six brothers – all living in his cabin. Milly sets out to reform the uncouth siblings, who are anxious to get wives of their own. Then after reading about the Roman capture of the Sabine women, Adam develops an inspired solution to his brothers’ loneliness. The show is fun, fast-paced, sometimes raucuous, sometimes sweet, always entertaining.
