Crime Stoppers offers reward in check fraud case

Bowling Green police are asking for the public’s assistance in investigating an identity theft and fraudulent checks. 

On March 28, the Owensboro Police Department contacted BGPD about a woman’s purse that had been stolen out of a vehicle in Owensboro. The victim told police her Social Security number and name had been used to cash five checks at Bowling Green area banks. The victim told police someone used her identity to obtain $8,500 using multiple checks. Video surveillance shows a white female in a white Dodge Durango using a drive-thru to cash the checks.
