WKU to host information sessions to boost degree completion
Problems with money, health, family responsibilities and other life events can often get in the way of finishing college.
Western Kentucky University is hosting information sessions this month on its Bowling Green and regional campuses to help people find resources to complete their education.
Bradley Kissell, WKU’s director of adult and regional campus enrollment, said the sessions will address barriers students face when returning to school by providing information and resources.
“We’re here to help adult learners finish their degree and to achieve their education and career goals,” Kissell said.
Sessions on WKU’s Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown-Fort Knox campuses are planned for 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 19. The sessions will be in room 131 on the Glasgow campus, Room 104 in Owensboro and Room 227 in Elizabethtown.
The Bowling Green session will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 21 at the Knicely Conference Center in Room 112. That session will also be live streamed.
Attendees are asked to register at wku.edu/lp/finishnow.php, where more information is available.
“Going back and finishing a bachelor’s degree really helps with unemployment, really helps with a salary,” Kissell said. “It really helps us with an educated workforce, which is really needed out there.”
