Hammer nets seven goals in Trojanettes’ District 15 tournament win
Hadleigh Hammer scored seven goals for Barren County girls’ soccer Monday in an 11-0 win at Clinton County in the District 13 Tournament semifinals.
Hammer scored her game-best seven goals in the first half while Laney Smith added three goals. Hammer, Smith and Jenna Brooks each had two assists.
Emily Pedigo earned the shutout.
Barren County (14-5) will play Glasgow in the district championship Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Clinton County.
Girls’ District 15 Tournament
Glasgow 4, Monroe County 2
Emily Benningfield scored two goals for Glasgow in a 4-2 win over Monroe County in the District 15 semifinals at Clinton County.
Benningfield and McKenna McMurtrey scored the first two goals before Monroe County cut the lead in half. Dinah Miranda put Glasgow up 3-1 in the 22nd minute and Benningfield made it a 4-1 lead with 24:26 left in the match.
Glasgow (9-10) plays Barren County in the District 15 championship.
Boys’ District 13 Tournament
Logan County 10, Russellville 0
Nicholas Petrie had a hat trick and Ethan Haley netted a pair of goals to lead Logan County in a 10-0 win over Russellville to open the District 13 boys’ soccer tournament Monday night at Rhea Stadium.
Logan County (7-9-1) mercy-ruled the Panthers (1-13) with six different goal scorers. Parker Bray and Kaleb Justice combined for the shutout.
Logan County advances to the Region 4 Tournament and will play the winner of Franklin-Simpson-Todd County Central in the District 13 championship.
