Local bands perform for Nashville flood fundraiser May 16
Several Bowling Green area bands will be performing May 16 at The End in a fundraiser for victims of Nashville’s flood. Featured groups at the 18 and over show include: Daniel Newman, Sleeper Agent, Why They Came, Dee Goodz, Natty Bumpoe, Thee Japanese School Girls, Downtown Handshake, Canago, I Became The Sky and Micah.
All proceeds from the $8 entry fee and any food, clothing, toys or other items donated, will go to help victims of the flood through the American Red Cross according to show organizer Chad Anthony. Anthony, a long time staple of the Bowling Green music and skater scene, has recently started a booking management company called Label ME with the help of friend Ross Murphy. The company is located at 2115 Yeaman Place in Nashville.
Chad reflects on his reasons for starting the new endeavor, saying “I have a lot of great friends who are either in a really good band or know people who are. I swiear I don’t know one crappy band. I have learned to appreciate the struggle of every artist… So I have just got my eyes open right now. Looking for that next big thing.”
Anthony hopes to organize many concerts helping out worthy causes in the years to come and has a variety of ideas for the future of Label ME. But, for now he is concentrating on booking and promoting, including plans for an “extremely crazy house party tour that will most def be coming through Bowling Green. Get ready Pirate House!”
The May 16 show begins at 7:30pm at The End in Nashville, TN. For more information email Chad at lfrep1@gmail.com.
