Kentucky Downs has announced that it will host the first annual SOKY Festival on Oct 22 and 23, 2010. The event will feature arts, crafts, and music from throughout the region. The main event is a Battle of the Bands competition that features the largest prize purse in Kentucky at $5000 cash in the total prize pool.

Bands interested in competing need to submit a press kit (including three song demo) and $50 entry fee by October 10, 2010. Twelve bands will be selected to compete on the 23rd and one band will walk away with $2500 cash at the end of the event. Four other artists will finish in the money. Bands not selected to compete on Saturday will have the opportunity to perform on Friday. One band that perform Friday will be selected to compete on Saturday.

Space will also be allocated to local arts, crafts, and activities vendors.
