Todd County Central climbs into latest Daily News Top 10

Unbeaten two weeks into the season, the Todd County Central boys’ basketball team climbed into the latest Daily News Area Top 10 and debuted at No. 7 in this week’s poll.

Todd County is 4-0 after an 82-46 thrashing of District 13 rival Russellville on Friday.

The other unbeaten boys’ team in the area, Warren Central, remained a unanimous No. 1 in the poll. Bowling Green held in second.

Monroe County moved up a spot to third, Barren County slipped a spot to fourth and Glasgow held at fifth. Greenwood was sixth before Todd County Central. Clinton County, Warren East and Butler County rounded out the boys’ poll.

On the girls’ side, the top three held with South Warren first, Russell County second and Edmonson County third. Bowling Green moved up to fourth with Barren County fifth. Glasgow was sixth with Allen County-Scottsville and Monroe County tied for seventh. Logan County and Greenwood rounded out the girls’ poll.

Voting was conducted before Monday’s games.
