The Secret Life of Girls – A play about bullying.
The Secret Life of Girls is a real-life drama about how bullying effects the lives of teens which will be presented by The Arts Education Task Force, Inc. May 7th – 9th at the Public Theatre of Kentucky.
The drama by Linda Daugherty follows Abby as she seeks to fit in with the schools championship volleyball team. Friendships become weapons like secrets and rumors in the struggle to win acceptance and exclude those deemed unworthy. In some cases the social pressures lead to depression, cutting, eating disorders and other anti social behaviors. Often the adults in the girls’ lives either don’t notice, enable the behaviors or can’t cope either. The play also features cyberbullying and is intended to provoke discussion.
