Woman charged with wanton endangerment after admitting to using meth, driving with kids in the car

Bowling Green police arrested a woman Tuesday after an officer saw her driving a car about 3 to 5 mph while drifting toward a ditch on Collett Road near Plano Road.

The officer turned his car around to see if the driver and two children inside the car were OK. The driver, Rose Reeves, 29, told the officer she was not OK, according to her arrest citation. She told the officer she stopped near the ditch because her radio was talking to her. She also said she had recently used methamphetamine and as a result of that drug use had not slept in several days.

While the officer was speaking to Reeves, she complained of a dry mouth and became paranoid that people were watching her, according to the citation. The officer called a relative to come pick up the children in her car. Reeves was taken to The Medical Center, where she had difficulty staying focused and refused a blood draw, according to the citation.

Reeves at one point thought that the nursing staff was talking about her when they were having an unrelated conversation, according to the citation. While at the hospital, Reeves called a friend and said she was being arrested for “picking up the kids while high.”

She was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to her arrest citation. She was lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail at 6 p.m. and a bond had not been set as of 8:17 p.m., according to online jail records.
