Theft investigation results in drug charges
During a Logan County Sheriff’s Department theft investigation Wednesday in the 2000 block of Daysville Road, deputies found an open door leading into a building that contained a camper.
Deputies contacted the occupant, Jonathan Hurt, 27, of Elkton, and saw crystal methamphetamine in open view along with digital scales, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
Deputies arrested Hurt and charged him with first-degree possession of a controlled substance, second offense (meth) and possession of a drug paraphernalia, according to the release.
There were no theft-related charges made against Hurt.
Burglary — Bowling Green police were called Monday to 423 W. 11th Ave. after receiving a complaint that a man and woman inside the residence were physically fighting, according to police records.
When officers arrived, Zannarra Hampton answered the door and told police that the man had left the home. Police noticed a large, swollen knot on her left cheek beneath her eye. Inside her living room, things had been tossed around and liquid was all over the floor, police records show.
Police officers searched the home and found Eddie Moore hiding in the attic. He was taken outside the home. Police determined Moore illegally entered the home and assaulted Hampton, records show. Hampton has an active domestic violence order against Moore.
Moore was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and violation of a Kentucky domestic violence order, according to online Warren County Regional Jail records. He has also been charged with three counts of failure to appear and two counts of contempt of court. He is in jail and his combined bond is set at $11,000.
