The Creative Writing staff of Western Kentucky University announces its fifth competitive workshop for Jan. 19-22, 2012. This year’s workshop is on poetry with instructor Maurice Manning.

Applicants should submit five poems to Winter Workshop, English Department, WKU, Bowling Green, Ky., 42101.  Each poem should include the writer’s name, address, phone number and email address (if applicable).

Submissions must be postmarked no later than Oct. 15. None can be returned.  Participants chosen by a panel of judges will be notified by Nov. 2.  Tuition is $300, payable by check to Winter Workshop by Nov. 18.  This sum covers sack lunches for four days and the closing banquet Sunday evening at 6 p.m.  All events are in Cherry Hall on WKU campus.  For additional information, contact Mary Ellen Miller at (270) 745-5721 or mary.miller@wku.edu.
