Bowling Green will play host to opening-round tournaments for both the NAIA Softball and Baseball Championships starting Monday.

Buchanon Park will host two NAIA Softball opening-round brackets and several former area high school standouts will be in town with their college teams.

In Bracket No. 1 featuring fourth-seeded Midway, former Butler County standouts Lynsie Clark and Cheyenne White are on the Eagles’ roster.

Clark, a senior infielder, has been a mainstay for Midway this season. In 43 games (all starts), Clark batted .258 with two home runs and 21 RBIs. She also stole a pair of bases.

White, a freshman catcher, has seen limited action for the Eagles this season.

In Bracket No. 2, top-seeded Campbellsville brings back South Warren graduate Karson Williams and former Allen County-Scottsville star Ryley Whitney for the tournament.

Whitney, a catcher, was named the Mid-South Conference Freshman of the Year and made the All Mid-South Conference First Team after batting .354 in 53 games (all starts) with three home runs and 42 RBIs.

Williams, a freshman pitcher, has appeared in 10 games this season and has compiled a 1-0 record in 16 innings.

Bowling Green Ballpark will host an NAIA Baseball opening-round tournament, and second-seeded Campbellsville features former Russellville standout Jordan Blick.

A freshman infielder, Blick has played in just six games but has a .400 batting average with an RBI in five at-bats this season.
