Spartans’ Mixon, Martin garner regional player of the year honors
South Warren senior CM Mixon and sophomore Faith Martin garnered top honors on the All-Region 3 Boys’ and All-Region 4 Girls’ teams announced Friday by the Kentucky Golf Coaches Association.
Mixon, who finished as the runner-up at the KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Tournament at Bowling Green Country Club, was named the Region 3 Boys’ Player of the Year. Martin, who turned in a sixth-place finish in the KHSAA Girls’ State Golf Tournament also held at BGCC, was named as the Region 4 Girls’ Player of the Year.
Bowling Green’s Adam Whitt was named the Region 3 Boys’ Golf Coach of the Year, and South Warren’s Eric Holeman was named as the Region 4 Girls’ Golf Coach of the Year.
Joining Mixon on the All-Region 3 Boys’ team were Allen County-Scottsville’s Owen Stamper, Bowling Green’s Collier Curd, Clark McDougal and Tristen Carter and Franklin-Simpson’s Dalton Fiveash and Chase Wilson.
Also selected to the All-Region 4 Girls’ team were Glasgow’s Abbie Lee, Taylor County’s Addie Westbrook, Monroe County’s Connor Geralds, Green County’s Gracie Parrott, Greenwood’s Allison Wheeler, Metcalfe County’s Bree Russell and South Warren’s McKenna Stahl and Lauren Holeman.
