Gavin Driver is one of the veterans on a senior-heavy Barren County team and he played like one late Tuesday night.

Driver skied for a final defensive rebound and then hit two free throws in the final seconds to ice a 51-47 Barren County win against Clinton County in the opening round of the Region 4 Tournament at E.A. Diddle Arena.

The senior forward totaled 14 points and nine rebounds in the region victory.

The Bulldogs “hit a lot of big shots and I think we just fought through adversity well,” Driver said. “We never got our heads down. We just kept battling.”

Driver is one of five seniors on Barren’s roster, alongside Wade Coomer, Billy Jackson, Nick Mabe and Mason Perkins. That group helped the Trojans to a school-record 27 wins this season.
