BG East 11s wallop Daviess County 16-0

The Bowling Green East 10- and 11-year-old all-stars erupted for 16 runs in the top of the third inning en route to a 17-0 win over Daviess County in the District 1 Tournament pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

Drew Pierce, Hudson Nottmeier, Connor James, Blake Richey, Landon Gilbert and Griffin Veazey all drove in runs during the decisive third.

Pierce was 3-for-3 with an RBI and Veazey added a 3-for-4 day with two RBIs. Miles Richey was 2-for-2 with a home run and two RBIs, Sam Holder was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Nottmeier had two hits and an RBI and Gilbert finished with four RBIs.

Gilbert got the win, tossing two innings while striking out four. Pierce finished up with a scoreless inning, striking out two.

BG East continues pool play with a 1 p.m. game Monday against Franklin.

Owensboro Southern 10, Warren County South 1

Owensboro Southern topped Warren County South 10-1 in District 1 Tournament pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

WC South tallied eight hits, all singles, in the loss.

Warren South next will take on Franklin in pool play at 1 p.m. on Sunday.

Warren County North 26, Franklin 22 (7 innings)

It took an extra inning, but Warren County North prevailed 26-22 over Franklin in District 1 Tournament pool play on Saturday in Owensboro.

WC North’s Nelson O’Dell had three hits including a triple and Jaydon Richey also finished with three hits. Ayden Witherspoon and Rylan Hunt had two hits apiece and Brody Keown tallied a double for WC North.

On the mound, WC North’s Witherspoon started and struck out three, followed by Tosh Travis who tallied four strikeouts, O’Dell had one and Hunt struck out three. Hunt earned the win.

WC North continues pool play Sunday with a 5 p.m. game against Owensboro Southern.

Bowling Green East 7, Warren County North 3

Tom Price had two hits and a pair of RBIs as BG East earned a 7-3 win over Warren County North in District 1 pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

Colt Isenberg, Beau Bryant, Preston Davis and Conner Bowers each had a hit and an RBI for BG East.

Austin Arnold got the win, combining with Isenberg and Grayson Rodgers to allow four hits and tally a combined four strikeouts.

For WC North, Kyle Sledge was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Rhett Bullock was 2-for-3 and Briggs Young was 2-for-3.

BG East will face Daviess County in pool play at 9 a.m. Sunday. WC North plays Hopkins County at 11 a.m. Sunday.

Warren County South 13, Owensboro Southern 0

Joseph Fentress went 2-for-4 with a double and four RBIs to lead Warren County South to a 13-0 win over Owensboro Southern in District 1 Tournament pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

WC South’s Justin Capps added a double and scored three runs and Camden Page drove in another run. WC South drew nine walks in the win.

Lukas Peterson, Dylan Marr, James Yarbrough and Noah Rowland combined for a four-hit shutout. Peterson got the win.

WC South returns to action Sunday at 9 a.m. against Franklin.

Owensboro Southern 15, Warren County South 0

Warren County South dropped a 15-0 decision to Owensboro Southern in District 1 Tournament pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

Ty Croghan had two hits to lead WC South, which also got hits from Brady Patterson and Gray Pearson.

WC South next faces Warren County North on Sunday at 3 p.m. in pool play.

Warren County North 9, Logan County 4

Warren County North’s Kaiven Hinton and Justin Castlen combined for seven runs batted in to lead their team to a 9-4 win over Logan County in District 1 Tournament pool play Saturday in Owensboro.

Hinton was 3-for-4 with a triple and four RBIs, while Castlen went 2-for-3 with a double, a triple and two RBIs.

Brendan Bratcher added a 3-for-3 day for WC North.

Hinton got the win in relief, tossing 3 1/3 scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts.

WC North returns to action against Warren County South in pool play Sunday at 3 p.m.
