Historic RailPark to host bookfair at Barnes & Noble

The Historic RailPark and Train Museum will host a Barnes & Noble Bookfair from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the bookstore at 1680 Campbell Lane.

A portion of sales in the bookstore and cafe will benefit the RailPark.

Customers must use the voucher ID number 11855921 or express participation in the book fair at the main register or cafe in order for their purchase to count toward the fundraiser. Shoppers also can participate online by visiting bn.com/bookfairs. Online purchases, excluding gift cards, made that weekend with the voucher ID will count toward the fundraiser. Vouchers will be available in the store, at the RailPark gift shop or at historicrailpark.com.

Participants can reserve cafe seats during dinner time from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday or Saturday. Guests with reservations will be seated in the cafe and have wait staff take care of them. The cafe offers soups, salads, sandwiches, pizza and desserts. A cafe sampling will be at 2 p.m. Saturday. Kids can learn about Owney, the mail-pouch pooch during storytime from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the children’s area. Children are invited to stay and make a box car train craft.

A traveling model train layout created by the sHOw Modular Train Club will be on display at the book fair. Members will be on-site to operate the trains and talk to customers about model trains. Other train displays will be set up in the store including a complete and operable Lego train set.
