First Security Bank branch to relocate
Owensboro-based First Security Bank will relocate its Greenwood Mall branch in mid-2018 as it looks to upgrade its presence in Bowling Green.
The building at 1960 Cave Mill Road has served as a First Security branch since 2010, when First Security bought it from the now-defunct Integra Bank. The branch will continue to operate until mid-2018 while First Security searches for a new banking center, according to a news release.
First Security has locations in downtown Bowling Green and on Campbell Lane, and President and CEO Michael Beckwith said he wants to maintain a presence in the Greenwood Mall area.
“First Security Bank is in growth mode in the Bowling Green market,” Beckwith said. “The economy is vibrant, and our desire to be the bank that grows with the community is strong.”
Beckwith said the new branch will “be in that (Greenwood Mall) area,” but the bank hasn’t decided on a location.
“We’re looking at existing buildings, construction of a new center or location in a strip center,” Beckwith said.
First Security, with $600 million in assets and more than 130 employees, has Kentucky locations in Owensboro, Bowling Green, Franklin and Lexington.
First Security also has three branches in the Evansville, Ind., area.
