Becirovic lifts Lady Dragons to shutout victory

Adelisa Becirovic scored a pair of goals to lead host Warren Central to a 3-0 girls’ soccer win Thursday over Glasgow.

Beatrice Malenga added a goal, and Lana Davis and Itzel Falcon-Perez tallied assists for the Lady Dragons.

Goalkeeper Eriona Shabani recorded the shutout for Warren Central (8-1), which returns to action Monday at home against Bowling Green.

Glasgow (5-6) visits Warren East on Monday.

South Warren 10, Warren East 1

Laura Hasani netted four goals to lead South Warren to a 10-1 girls’ soccer win Thursday at Warren East.

Kinsey Nelson and Kailee Nobles added two goals and two assists apiece for the Spartans, who also got a goal and an assist from Augustina Pinella.

Also for South Warren, Sofia Hasani had a goal and three assists and Samantha Schmitt added an assist.

Shelby Trent tallied a goal off an assist by Sydney Moutardier for Warren East (5-5, 0-4 District 14), which hosts Marion County on Saturday.

South Warren (6-6, 1-1) hosts Fort Campbell on Monday.

Boys’ soccer

Russellville 3, Todd Co. Central 0

Avery Flener netted a pair of goals as host Russellville earned a 3-0 boys’ soccer win Thursday over Todd County Central.

Hunter McDowell added a goal and Dustin Brown had two assists for the Panthers. Goalkeepers Jesus Zamarripa (seven saves) and Nathan Cates (two saves) combined for the shutout.

Russellville (6-3-1, 1-2 District 13) is back in action Saturday against Clinton County in the 4th Region All ‘A’ Classic.

Glasgow 8, Clinton County 0

Jackson Bower tallied two goals and four assists to lead host Glasgow to an 8-0 boys’ soccer win Thursday over Clinton County.

Grant Gatlin also had two goals for the Scotties, while Benjamin Shireman chipped in with a goal and an assist. Cayden Dunn, Edson Lopez and Lucio Yahir Molina Alarcon added goals, and Elias Banegas and Bradley Endris each had an assist for Glasgow.

Goalkeeper Cole Constant recorded the shutout for the Scotties.

Glasgow (6-2, 4-0 District 15) is back in action Saturday against visiting Owensboro.
