Three softball Spartans to play collegiately
South Warren senior Alexis Helderman will play college softball at Brescia University, she announced Thursday during a ceremony at the school.
Helderman had 25 hits and 11 RBIs for the Region 4 champion Spartans last season.
In her career, she has 32 RBIs, 52 runs scored and a .256 batting average.
South Warren senior Lauren Martin will play softball at Union College. Martin had four home runs for the Spartans last season with a .345 batting average. For her career, she has 145 hits, 15 home runs and 108 RBIs.
South Warren’s Kaitlyn LaSala will play college softball at Transylvania University.
LaSala had 22 hits and 20 RBIs last season. She has a .249 career batting average.
Yonts headed to Brescia
South Warren senior Hannah Yonts will play volleyball at Brescia. Yonts led the Region 4 champion Spartans with 317 kills this fall and had a .226 hitting percentage. She finished her prep career with 905 kills.
Rayno headed to Lindsey Wilson
Logan County High School held a ceremony Wednesday announcing senior Austin Rayno will play baseball at Lindsey Wilson College. Rayno had the second-most hits for the Cougars last year with 42 and a .350 batting average.
