The Capitol Arts Youth Theatre Presents: Give My Regards To Broadway
Combine the greatest show tunes of George M. Cohan with a sparkling story and you have an entertaining, toe-tapping musical comedy.
Dick Foster is opening a Broadway show but is having problems with both money and his leading lady. Enter Mary Collins, an aspiring actress. Just as all appears lost, a financial “angel” appears with the money to do the show, and Mary gets her big chance at stardom. The play is filled with fascinating characters, a bevy of chorus girls, Mona the diva, a bookie named Legs, his sweetheart Trixie, the gangsters Mugsy and Babs and with other assorted characters.
During the course of the show audiences will be treated to such classics as “Give My Regards to Broadway,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” and “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” This is the perfect show for all ages! Written for actors elementary to middle school age, our cast (ages 7-12) has taken this script and run with it, combining fun music, fast and witty dialogue, with their own enthusiasm this show will not disappoint! Join us, as our Youth Theatre takes us on this delightful journey.
