Aeons of Eclipse’s debut album, The Hour of Desolation, has been a work in progress for nearly two years.

As described on their myspace page, “Aeons of Eclipse is an extreme metal band hailing from Glasgow KY, the most unlikeliest of places to find blast beats and death growls amongst a redneck ridden, country music listening hellhole. The band started in summer 2004 out of the desire to create music of a dark, violent nature and dominate the world.”

Current band members include: Scott Slinker (vocals), Derek Ian Boles (guitar, backing vox), Ryan McGrew (guitar) and Scott Briggs (drums, backing vox). The group continues to search for a new bassist.

Lead vocalist Scott Slinker is credited with recording the tracks at his Velocity Studio. Velocity Studios specializes in, but is not limited to, recording bands in the Metal genre. The album was mastered by Colin Davis of Imperial Mastering. Davis is also the guitarist for local rockers Vilejive.

The detailed artwork for the album was created by Canadian artist Vitality S. Alexius (www.svitart.com). According to the band’s blog, “It’s very fitting to our ‘apocalyptic’ and ‘end of humanity’ lyrical themes and looks incredible.”
