Barren River 5K Classic Set For May 14
Barren River Lake State Resort Park will host the second race of the Kentucky State Parks Race Series on Saturday, May 14. The 5K race participants will get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the park as they run the rolling hills along the paved trail.
The registration fee for the race is $15 prior to race day and $20 on the day of the race. Registration begins at 7 a.m. on the morning of May 14 under the tent near the Louie B. Nunn Lodge. Participants will receive a race T-shirt and goody bag upon registration. The drawing for door prizes will take place following the race.
Trophies will be provided for 1st and 2nd place in each age category of 5K runners. Walkers will receive a certificate. For more information visit the parks website at www.parks.ky.gov.
Barren River Lake State Resort Park near Glasgow has a lodge, cottages, Driftwood Restaurant, golf course, fitness center, gift shop, fishing, picnic areas and hiking trails. The resort is located 44 miles southeast of Bowling Green. Take I-65 to the Cumberland Parkway east, to US 31E south.
