Mead announced her decision to return Sunday on her Instagram account in a short video that concluded with the message “Home” with a heart emoji.

Mead’s return gives WKU one of its most productive players the last three seasons – a mainstay at point guard since she arrived in 2020.

Mead has appeared in 95 games for WKU the last three years with 93 starts. She was a member of the Conference USA All-Freshman team in 2021-22 and earned both preseason and postseason all-conference honors last season.

She finished her junior year averaging a career best 11 points a game, with 131 assists and 61 steals. Mead is just 53 points shy of 1,000 career points.

With Mead’s return, senior guard Aaliyah Pitts is the only player from last season left in the portal. The Lady Toppers have added five players since the season ended and have lost two players – Nevaeh Foster and Karris Allen in the portal.

Allen signed with Southern Illinois and Foster signed with IUPUI.{&end}
