“Carolina is going to be a great player for us,” Davis said in a news release. “She has a tremendous amount of international experience playing at all levels of tournaments throughout her career. We look forward to her arrival this fall.”

Chiatti, a junior from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, played two seasons at Stephen F. Austin. She claimed five wins in singles play during the 2024 spring season – three from the No. 5 position and two from the No. 6 position – and eight in doubles play at the No. 2 position for the Ladyjacks. Chiatti was a part of the Western Athletic Conference Doubles Players of the Week team on Feb. 6. She claimed three wins from the No. 5 and No. 6 positions in the spring of 2023 during her first season playing college tennis, and also had singles wins during the fall of 2022 over ULM, Northwestern State, Sam Houston State and Lamar, as well as doubles wins in five of the six matches she played that fall.

Chiatti is the third signing WKU women’s tennis has announced this offseason. The Lady Toppers previously announced that Marshall transfer Emily Schut and Valparaiso transfer Elizabeth Sobieski will join the team in the 2024-25 season. WKU returns four players in Sofia Blanco, Sunskrithi Damera, Rachel Hermanova and Mariana Zegada.

The Lady Toppers are coming off a 14-11 season in 2024, which tied for fourth-most wins in a single season in program history. WKU is in its winningest three-year stretch in program history, with 47 wins coming during that period.
