“We played another good team tonight,” WKU coach Jason Neidell said in a news release. “We came out in the first half and still looked rattled from our match against Arkansas last Sunday. Dayton punished us in the first half for that. We engaged the game in a better way in the second half, but it was too little too late.”

The Flyers struck first in the 15th minute and then scored the second goal of the day just 28 seconds later. Dayton netted the final goal in the 28th minute.

In the second half, WKU regrouped and held the Flyers scoreless in the final 45 minutes. In the 75th minute, Dayton was rewarded a penalty kick but Maddie Davis made the save to keep it 3-0.

Davis finished with six saves. It was her second straight games with six saves.

WKU will return to Bowling Green to host Arkansas State on Sunday at 1 p.m. All matches at the WKU Soccer Complex are free for fans.
