WKU adds outside hitter transfer Cox from Missouri

In addition to adding freshmen Izzy Van De Wiele and Gabby Weihe on national signing day, Western Kentucky volleyball coach Travis Hudson signed Missouri transfer Kaylee Cox on Thursday to join the 2022 Conference USA regular-season champions beginning in 2023.

The 6-foot-3 outside hitter from Flower Mound, Texas, is set to join the Hilltoppers this spring after playing two seasons for the Tigers in Columbia, Mo.

As a sophomore last season, Cox started in all 28 matches and 107 sets in for Missouri. She hit .204 on the season, striking for 387 kills and a 2.95 kills per set average.

Cox appeared in all 30 matches/104 sets as a freshman, making 26 starts on the outside. She recorded 222 kills, while averaging 2.13 kills per set,

In high school, Cox was the No. 45 overall recruit in PrepVolleyball’s Class of 2021 rankings.
