The Western Kentucky women’s basketball team has added another commitment, with Salma Khedr announcing on social media that she has committed to play for WKU.
“After a Marvelous official visit to WKU, It took me no time to announce that I am committed to WKU, the way the visit went was amazing thanks for everything Lady Toppers,” Khedr said in a post.
Khedr is a 6-foot forward who averaged 16.8 points and 11.6 rebounds for Spire Academy in Geneva, Ohio. A native of Giza, Egypt, she will be the third player from Egypt to play for WKU under head coach Greg Collins. Raneem Elgedawy played for WKU from 2017-2021, while Meral Abdelgawad played from 2018-2022.
This is the second commitment WKU has received since the conclusion of the season. Mariama Sow, a 6-3 forward, announced she was transferring from UTEP and joining the Lady Toppers earlier this week.
WKU finished 15-17 this season, falling in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Tournament.{&end}
