Former WKU standout Sargent in second at Southern Amateur

: Western Kentucky redshirt senior Billy Tom Sargent will play in the NCAA Men’s Golf Championships starting Friday at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark.

Former Western Kentucky men’s golf standout Billy Tom Sargent finished just one shot off the lead after Wednesday’s opening round of the 113th Southern Amateur Championship at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark.

The Georgetown native Sargent finished his opening round with a 5-under par 66 for sole possession of second place, just one stroke behind first-round leader Walker Lee of Houston.
