Former Franklin-Simpson star Fiveash commits to Tops

- Franklin-Simpson senior right-handed pitcher Dalton Fiveash committed to Western Kentucky on Tuesday.
Western Kentucky’s baseball team picked up a commitment from a former area standout on Tuesday.
Dalton Fiveash, who starred at Franklin-Simpson High School, announced his commitment to the Hilltoppers on his X (formerly Twitter) social media account.
“I am blessed to announce that I will be continuing my academic and athletic career at Western Kentucky. I want to thanks my parents and my coaches for everything they have done to help me get to this point,” Fiveash posted to his account.
Playing his second junior-college season at Wabash Valley College in Mount Carmel, Illinois, Fiveash is batting .377 with 14 home runs and 68 RBIs this season for the Warriors.
A sophomore infielder, Fiveash has also notched 21 doubles, two triples and is 11-of-12 on stolen-base attempts.
A 2022 Franklin-Simpson graduate, Fiveash batted .494 with seven home runs and 36 RBIs as a senior for the Wildcats.
Wabash Valley, which won the Great Rivers Athletic Conference and Region XXIV championships, was scheduled to host Iowa Western in the Midwest District Tournament on Wednesday.
