Bearkats roll to 10-0 run-rule win against Hilltoppers

- Western Kentucky dropped a 10-0 decision in seven innings to Sam Houston State in Conference USA baseball action Saturday in Huntsville, Texas.
Western Kentucky’s baseball team dropped game two of the series against Sam Houston State 10-0 on Saturday at Don Sanders Field in Huntsville, Texas.
The Hilltoppers dropped to 24-12 overall and 7-4 in Conference USA, while the Bearkats improved to 21-14 and 4-7 in CUSA.
The Sam Houston win sets up a series-deciding finale Sunday afternoon.
The Bearkats plated runs in every inning besides the third and the fifth frames to reach the 10-run rule to end the game in the seventh inning.
Redshirt junior Cole Heath was the most effective arm out of the bullpen for WKU, striking out two batters in 2 1/3 frames while only conceding one run on three hits.
The Hilltoppers notched just one hit in the contest with a single to right field from junior Kyle Hayes.
The Hilltoppers and Bearkats will conclude their series Sunday at Don Sanders Stadium. First pitch is set for 1 p.m. CT.
