Mixon shot 2-under par 70 for the 36-hole tournament and finished three strokes behind state champion John Marshall Butler from Trinity. The senior committed to Louisville shot 1-under in both rounds.

“It’s just an overall blessing,” Mixon said. “So proud I could’ve finished that way. I’m just going to use this as motivation to go on to bigger and better things with my team at Louisville.”

Mixon’s state runner-up finish comes after placing third in the state as a junior. His 770 points in the Golf House Kentucky rankings will earn him a First-Team All-State selection.
