BG East 11-12s down WC South to reach District 1 title game

The Bowling Green East 11- and 12-year-old all-stars reached the District 1 Little League Tournament championship game by topping Warren County South 14-2 in Tuesday’s semifinals at Ephram White Park.
Easton Crawford collected a pair of doubles and drove in four runs to lead BG East. Brady Boyd added three RBIs, Jake Young was 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and scored three runs, Dylan White was 2-for-2 with an RBI and scored twice, Asa Buchanan went 2-for-3 with an RBI, and Wyatt Scott added a 2-for-3 day.
Also for BG East, Kip Walden drove in a run and scored twice, and Captain Carr and Pipes Gaines each added an RBI.
BG East broke the game open with an eight-run rally in the top of the sixth inning.
Walden pitched 5 2/3 innings to earn the win, allowing two runs off nine hits and no walks. He struck out nine batters. Henry Phillips finished up in relief by getting the last out.
Cade Compton went 2-for-2 with a double and scored a run for WC South. Came James and Nate Oliver each went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
BG East advanced to Wednesday’s championship against Logan County.

WC South 10, Owensboro Southern 0
Warren County South starting pitcher Kalix Neyenhaus pitched four shutout innings and the offense backed him with 11 hits in Tuesday’s 10-0 win against Owensboro Southern in the District 1 semifinals at Ephram White Park.
Neyenhaus fired a three-hit shutout, striking out five for the win.
Tanner Kroutil went 2-for-2 with a triple and an RBI, plus two runs scored in the win. Boone Robertson was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Baylor Ramey tallied a double and an RBI, Liam Kelly went 1-for-2 with two RBIs, and Liam Marr and Luke Reed each drove in a run.
WC South was set to face Daviess County in Wednesday’s district championship.
BG East 8, Logan County 4
Bowling Green East wrapped up pool play in the District 1 tournament with an 8-4 win against Logan County on Monday.
Wyatt Harvey pitched a complete game for BG East, striking out seven to earn the win.
Lalo Lopez-Murphy went 2-for-3 at the plate and scored a pair of runs, while Ryan Roby was 2-for-2 and also scored two runs in the victory.

WC South 8, Daviess County 0
Grayson Krantz and Bryce Beil combined on a shutout as Warren County South blanked Daviess County 8-0 in the District 1 semifinals Tuesday at Ephram White Park.
Krantz started and worked five scoreless innings before handing it off to Beil, who closed out the win with a scoreless sixth.
Nash Gaebler led WC South with two hits, and Trapper Reber tallied two RBIs in the win.
WC South was slated to face Owensboro Southern in the District 1 championship Wednesday.
