I am elated that Mike Norman, CEO of the Kentucky Science Center in Louisville, is interested in assisting us to establish a science center in Bowling Green (“Kentucky Science Center eyeing expansion into Warren County” – April 5 Daily News).

About 15 years ago, we had a small science center. I took my grandchildren and they were excited by many of the interesting exhibits and different science concepts. Since the science center was only supported by volunteers, without adequate support or leadership, it was closed.

My grandson, Aaron, and great-grandson, Lincoln, attend the science museum regularly in Louisville. They had this to say about the Louisville Science Center: “We love the science center. Had membership the past few years. Lincoln loves it.”

Bowling Green is so fortunate to have a group of the caliber of Mike Norman and the science center in Louisville to assist us in the establishment of a quality science center. This should be of interest to Western Kentucky University, the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, Warren County Public Schools, Bowling Green Schools and our population in general.

Now is the time to establish a good science center. We are very fortunate to have the expertise of Mike Norman and the science center in Louisville to assist us. Let us take advantage of this opportunity!
