William E. Price

William E. “Bill” Price died April 4, 2011, at a Bowling Green nursing home.
Bill worked for and retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. He was affectionately nicknamed “Red” by his GM friends and was affectionately known by his family as “Bo.” He was an active member of UAW Local 2164 and a member of Living Hope Baptist Church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He loved to bowl, golf and work outdoors. He loved sweets and his beloved cat, Graycie. He was a son of the late William Washington Price and Myrtle Ragsdall Price. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Franklin, Luther and Eugene Price; and a sister, Mary Lois Nichols.
Funeral is at 11:30 a.m. Friday at J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Home, Broadway Avenue chapel, with burial in Red Hill Cemetery in Allen County. Visitation is from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and begins at 9 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Shirley Price; three daughters, Jovon Hackworth and her husband, Chris, of Missouri, T.J. Shockley-Hunt and her husband, Michael, of Bowling Green, and Connie Price of Michigan; a son, Edward Price and his wife, Mary, of Bowling Green; two sisters, Joyce Booth of Arkansas and Talmadge Russell of Illinois; a brother, Clarence Price of Arkansas; six grandchildren, Lane, Ashley, Justin, Bridgette, Sonya and Chance; 10 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
