Bowling Green – Stephen Combs, 50, of Bowling Green passed away January 11, 2019 at The Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Norfolk, VA native is the son of Robert P. Combs and the late Lynda Kay Abel Combs of Loogootee, IN. From Kelli – It was love at first sight. He said he was going to marry me the first time we met when I was 14 and he was 15. The first and only man I truly loved. And we loved each other wholly and completely. Best friends and partners in crime for 35 years. Our only daughter, Stefani Reneigh Pearl Grace, was a Daddy’s little girl, his “Kook,” His hunting partner, His pride and joy – a bond that will never be broken. Our son-in-law, Travis, fit right into our little family. Steve loved his dogs, his truck, his recliner, fishing, his church and God. Stephen was always good for a laugh and had a kind heart. He was a member of the Kentucky Colonels. He served as a Combat Medic in Iraq and dearly loved his country. Mr. Combs is survived by his wife, Kelli Combs; one daughter, Stefani Grace (Travis); one grandson “Squirt” on the way; one brother, John Combs (Regeana); one sister, Leslie Combs (Debbie); Brother-in-law, Scott Hocker and his son Austin; best friend, Jarrod Dortch. Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Hillvue Heights Church with visitation from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Saturday. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
