EAST SPARTA, Ohio — Nancy Snyder of East Sparta, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2023.
Throughout her 90 years, Nancy held a deep faith in God, which guided her life and served as an inspiration to others. Her greatest joy was being a member of a loving family. First as a daughter and sibling, and later as a wife, mother, and grandparent. Nancy relished time with her granddaughters and was delighted to see them become mothers this year.
During her time in Bowling Green, Nancy worked at WKU and made lasting friendships, especially the Downing and Hayden families. In whatever she did, Nancy contributed enthusiasm, an outstanding work ethic, and a luminous smile. Her legacy includes chairing the restoration of the one-room Melscheimer Schoolhouse, which she attended as a child.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Dorothy Harmon Babik, her husband of over 56 years, William Snyder; her sister, Bonnie Steele and husband, Ray; son-in-law Tim Buchanan, and numerous beloved family members.
She is survived by her siblings Marcia (Bob) Johnston, Tom (Nancy) Babik, and Pam (Charles) Kish. She will be fondly remembered by daughters Beth (Dale) Jones, Joan Buchanan, Mary (Brian) McAlevy; granddaughters Shannon (Joey) Housey and Heather (Aaron) Warnick; great grandchildren Adeline Warnick and Carter Housey, and numerous nieces and nephews.
