Martha Comer Colson

Martha Comer Colson, 83, of Bowling Green, passed away July 21, 2013, at Greenview Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late OE Comer Sr. and Lillian Comer. Besides her love for her husband and family, Martha loved her country, her church and served them faithfully. She was a founding member of West End Church of Christ, volunteered at Greenview Hospital, was a member of Barren River Volunteer Fire Department, Rockfield and Richardsville Homemakers Clubs and a past Warren County Election Officer. 

Visitation is Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at J.C. Kirby & Son Lovers Lane Chapel. Funeral is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with burial in Bowling Green Gardens. 

Martha is survived by her husband of 63 years, Roy Chester “Check” Colson of Bowling Green; two daughters, Chesa Montgomery and her husband, Johnny, of Bowling Green, and Marcia Fuller and her husband, Jim, of Bowling Green; a son, Marc Colson and his wife, Connie, of Bowling Green; a sister, Jean Comer Proffitt of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Angela Lindsay and her husband, Bruce, Jason Colson and his wife, June, Amy Green and her husband, Mike, Eric Colson and his wife, Emily, J.R. Montgomery and his wife Candy, and Brady Trosper and his wife, Jaclyn; 10 great-grandchildren, Johnathan Green, Ty Colson, Robert Green, Amanda Lindsay, Jackson Lindsay, Trey Colson, Landon Colson, Matthew Green, Jaxson Colson and Logan Montgomery; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her two brothers, Harlin Comer and OE Comer Jr.; and a sister, Jewel Comer Turner.
